Electrical service

Lighting installation and layout.

Recessed, track, under-cabinet, exterior, and controls — installed so the light actually lands where it is useful.

Lighting work Skyvolt takes on

Lighting is the electrical work people actually notice every day. Poorly placed pot lights and the wrong colour temperature are hard to live with, and both are decided before anything is cut.

Skyvolt handles the layout as well as the install, for commercial fit-outs and homes alike: how many fixtures, where they sit relative to cabinets and walkways, and how they are switched or dimmed.

  • Commercial lighting layout and LED retrofits
  • Recessed and pot-light layout for living areas, kitchens, and hallways
  • Under-cabinet, cove, and task lighting
  • Track, pendant, and fixture replacement
  • Exterior, soffit, landscape, and security lighting

Controls and dimming

Most dimming complaints come from a mismatch between the dimmer and the LED driver, not the fixture. Skyvolt specifies compatible pairs so the lights dim smoothly instead of flickering or buzzing at the low end.

Switching layout is worth planning at the same time — which lights are grouped, and where the switch belongs relative to how the space is used.

Common questions

Can pot lights go in an existing ceiling?

Usually yes. Retrofit housings are designed for finished ceilings, though joists, insulation, and vapour barrier requirements affect placement. That gets checked before the layout is set.

Why do my LED lights flicker when dimmed?

Almost always an incompatible dimmer. Matching the dimmer to the driver, and staying within its minimum load, resolves most flicker and buzz.

Do you handle commercial lighting retrofits?

Yes. A retrofit quote needs the existing fixture count, type, and mounting height, plus how the space is used and switched.
